trial on free writing

There was a time
I used to believe in greater destiny
To be a blessed few
Who can see things
Wee bit more clearly
More evolved, more ordained
To unravel the mysteries of universe
Pity those who live their lives
Wretched in vanity, struggling, competing
Also those carefree and oblivious
Slackened and slumbering
as if nothing ever matters
The happy and sad, the merry and mad
It took me a while to realize
I am no different
I am merely wired to wonder

There are million vagaries of perception
but they are seldom stacked ascending
with one more superior, more ordained than other
they instead lie stacked, in a chaotic mess
converging, diverging and at times merging
but none really transcending
towards that purported greater truth
Some wonder, others do not
Some learn to accept, others to dissect
Some to fight other to fall in line
Some are followed revered
Others are stoned and crucified
Some die, other raise from the crucifix
Yet they are all just one among the million

Keep your cup just half full
For you wont dare to share
If your cup is all empty
And you wont care to share
if your cup is full to the brim

lost

We are people lost in the woods
Everyday we tread unknown paths
Follow cues and tracks
Left by those who were there before
those who knew the way
Unknowingly though, we leave our tracks behind.....

I am always in awe
Of what I write today
Equally so I loathe
What I had written yesterday

I wonder what I write
Would ever get counted as poetry
At times, I do feel the need
Of learning the art
Mastering the so called
Trick of the trade
Alas, I so much loath
The mediocrity of method
What separates skill from art?
So many can replicate Picasso
Can recreate Mozart
But for the genius of creation
The joy of naive, unbridled passion
What success, what audience can create that?

It’s a neat new page
With just a flip of finger
Scroll of life but lingers on
You seldom get to turn the page
And even if you brave to manage one
Its never neat, for memories you keep....
....for memories you keep

Deeper I yearn to dive
Shallower I often arrive
Like a dazzled diver desperate for breath
I clamour back to surface lost
But I guess that’s the cost
For deeper you explore the dark
There is always a chance of loosing the way back

There is so much I wish to do
That each moment my heart is tugged and torn
By diverse desires and delirious dreams
I know, I need to move on
But I know not which way
And I end up doing nothing at all
But answer my instinct’s call
I simply eat sleep and shag through my day

Who has seen tomorrow?
If indeed there is one
For you to really worry
What if it all ends today
This very moment as we say

Most men live two lives
One of dreams, other of reality
These worlds at times converge
Lucky few live in that purple patch
Where these two worlds meet
Yet, you find seldom a man without regrets
For these worlds converge, never merge
